Preventive maintenance
Preventive maintenance helps to avoid future unplanned breakdowns and potentially costly repairs.
Vibration analysis is an effective technique for monitoring the condition of the gears and bearings and determing the root cause of machine failure. With our CSI portable spectrum analyser and Bentley Nevada multi-channel real-time analysers we are able to carry out on-site vibration measurements detecting various sorts of gearbox problems:
- gear damage (e.g. scoring, abrasive wear)
- bearing defects (cage fractures, inner/outer ring damage)
- alignment errors
- looseness
- imbalance
- resonance areas
Wear protection through Lasercladding
Windturbine gearboxes are subjected to high loads and suffer from high rates of wear under such demanding usage. We often make use of our inhouse Laserclad facilities to modify vital parts (e.g. the spline coupling) of the turbines. Laser cladding is a highly flexible repair technique and a promising technology to restore damaged parts instead of replacement.
Oil flushing
We also have the knowledge and equipment to perform oil flushing of windturbine gear components. Clean oil is of great importance for reliable wind turbine performance. Windturbines often suffer from shutdowns due to contamination of the bearings. With our flushing equipment we are able to clean the oil according to the customer's requirements.
